This website, which I designed, coded, and help a little with maintenance, was a significant challenge. The author knows enough HTML to be dangerous, and over the years her original website had grown out of control as she kept adding pages. My first task was to prioritize the content. I put the focus back on the books, invited interaction with the author, and made it clear how regularly the website is updated so that fans know when to come back. The next challenge was the design, and can I just say that it is very difficult to design for historical interests and modern sensibilities?! Once the design was set, I migrated the nearly 100 pages of this website, and created a template for the author to make pages herself.
